Benedum Foundation Launches $130,000 Scholarship Fund for Teachers ... - PNN
The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) has announced that the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation will provide scholarships and professional development for teachers who are interested in pursuing National Board Certification in Greene, Washington and Fayette counties. “Quality schools begin with quality teaching. That is why we are pleased to partner with an organization devoted to building the teaching profession and keeping top-notch teachers in the classroom,” said James V. Denova, senior program officer, the Benedum Foundation. “When teachers achieve National Board Certification, we’re helping to increase the quality of education. Ultimately, we would like to see at least one National Board Certified Teacher® (NBCT) in every school in Western Pennsylvania.”
