Work Opportunity Tax Credits and On-the-Job Training. The Work Opportunity Tax Credit is a federal tax credit available to employers who hire employees from eight targeted groups. The credit is used to reduce the Federal Tax Liability of private-for-profit employers. The available amount is $2,400 per eligible worker, the first year, and up to $5,000 the second. On-the-Job Training is one of the allowable program activities authorized by the Workforce Investment Act. The seminar is intended for business owners, HR professionals, accountants or other supportive personnel.
