Fitting farewell - Columbia Missourian
Then there was Scott Wheatley. Five years ago Wheatley arrived at Missouri as a walk-on out of Cass-Midway High School, hoping to get a chance to play for his home-state school, but no doubt wondering how likely that would be. Missouri’s coaches switched him to offense after his sophomore season, with the idea that the 6-foot-2, 290-pound Cleveland, Mo., native could play center. He was moved back to defense before the start of this season.
