Youth shine for one day - Saipan Tribune
Tuesday, October 18, 2005 The youth will be given a day to shine at the workplace as they take over the roles of managers and other professionals serving in government and private sectors tomorrow.The Youth Take-Over Day tomorrow is part of Youth Month this October. Special assistant for Youth Affairs Florence Kirby said the youth will be taking over government positions and will gather in front of the Administration Building between 7:45am to 8:15am to meet their counterparts."The students will be taking over the positions at the Superior and Supreme Courts, the Legislature, the Micronesian Legal Services, and at private agencies or businesses," said Kirby.Incumbents Gov. Juan N. Babauta and Lt. Gov Diego T. Benavente will host a brief reception at 3pm.Kirby, in an interview with Saipan Tribune, said the event is one of the biggest and much awaited events that her office is hosting this year. "The take-over gives ideas for the graduating high school students, juniors, or even students in college. We give them the opportunity to see what kind of work is available for them," she said.Also regarded as "one-day encounter of jobs," the take-over event is expected to gather at least 800 youth members.
