US Congress Mr. Food Smart Woman Mom USA Mayo Health Medical Edge Colleges Get Another Shot At Major Grant KFYR-TV News North Dakota colleges will be getting another shot at state "centers of excellence" grants early next year. The Legislature set aside 20 million dollars and there's eleven million dollars left. NDSU, UND, Bismarck State and Lake Region State College each got a share of the first round of grants last week. But there will be another round in January. Lieutenant Governor Jack Dalrymple says the grants are for projects that will create private jobs. He says in the first round a screening committee focused on projects with the biggest potential benefits. But he says there are still plenty of good ideas. State Commerce Department deputy director Shane Goettle says he was impressed with the ideas that came forward. He says North Dakota's colleges can be engines for job growth.
