OIT's Pence adjusts easily - Herald and News
”But, being at OIT, I love it,“ she said. ”I feel I know a lot of people. I felt that staying in Klamath Falls, I would have the same friends I did in high school.“Pence quickly learned differently.”Soccer was a chance to meet a lot of new people,“ Pence said, noting that all of her close friends now are OIT students.”Like Brandy Bocchi (from Klamath Union),“ Pence said. ”I knew of her, but I didn't know her. Now, she's one of my best friends. We talk about that all the time, how soccer brought us closer.”I love everybody on the team and the bonds we've had, being competitive, winning and losing together. It's been fun being a part of something.”Playing a college sport is an accomplishment by itself,“ Pence said.The biggest lesson she has learned, Pence said, was how to win, and lose, graciously.”In high school, we were always contending for the league championship.
