Council hopefuls discuss town-gown issues - Trenton Times
Trotman agreed alcohol abuse by university students is a problem, but acknowledged the university has added some programs for freshman students about the dangers of alcohol abuse. "What we would not like to see is someone having a fatal accident as a result of alcohol," she said. The two long-term council members said they would also like to see Princeton increase its annual gift to the borough in lieu of taxes. The university does that because most university property is tax-exempt, thus posing a burden on the borough.
