Voters send discouraging message about higher education - Central Maine Morning Sentinel
Kennebec County Community College in Fairfield was in line to get $935,000 of the $5 million earmarked in the education bond for the seven-campus Maine Community College System, whose enrollment has increased to about 12,500. That is up 3,300 students -- about 44 percent -- since 2002, when the state's technical schools were converted to community colleges.
